So I'm one of the sites I frequent to learn more about being a Dad is this site called Brand New Dad. It has forums and articles about being a dad.. really nice site, with some great members who post really interesting stuff.

One of the posts which came up today was about vaccinations & what various dad's birth plans are..

here's what he wrote that their current plan is:

No vaccinations for anything. Esp Hepatitis B cause LW is not shooting up drugs. No eye drops cause LW does not have gonorrhea or syphillis. I want them to put babies on mothers chest right after they are delivered, and not cut the cord til it stops pulsing. I am still up in the air on Vitamin K shots. We plan on circumcising, so I see some importance on this. Some studies show these shots, which contain more that just Vitamin K, have been linked to an increase in childhood cancer. Others studies don't. Then there is the possibility of oral Vit. K vs. the shot. If they really need the shot at all. I know Vit. K is low til the 7th day, but did God do that for a reason? And should I mess with His design? If we skip the Vit. K, then I'd have to wait at least a week for the circumcision. So I'm still up in the air on this one.

I had to laugh at a few parts.. mainly talking about the fact that they're going to circumsise the child, but they're unsure about whether or not to do a vitamin K shot because they don't want to "Mess with His (God) design."

isn't chopping off the foreskin messing with god's design?

Personally, I think God would care a bit more about whackin off part of the willy than whether or not there's enough vitamin k in the blood.
