Oh! and I almost forgot.. Aurora is brilliant!
So for the past few months, Penny's been doing some very simple baby-signing with Aurora. Every time she's about to feed her, she does the baby sign for "milk", and then feeds Aurora. Over the past week we've started to notice that Aurora seems to be recognizing the sign.. for example, two days ago Penny signed "milk" and asked "neh? neh?". Aurora's hands stopped waving and she seemed to "attempt" a "milk" sign of her own. Now, she's not that dexterous, so unless you were very aware of what she was doing you wouldn't interpret it as a sign, but we could see the difference in how she was holding her hands. Very excited, we went "yes! neh! yes! milk!" and aurora got a good old feed.
Then, this morning after a full night's sleep (It's in bold because it's awesome), Aurora woke up about 5 am or so crying. So I was changing her, and she started crying harder. Thinking quickly (as I always do), I did the sign for milk to let her know that she was going to be fed soon. She actually stopped crying and stared at my hands. I don't know if she thought "oh, father here is going to now present me to mother, where I shall have a healthy breakfast! Joy!".. but I'm sure she recognized the sign and knew something was going to happen. As soon as she stopped crying I rewarded her with a swift lift & brought her straight over to penny for a good hearty brekkie.
It's so exciting seeing these changes as they come about.. and it seems that she's changing more and more each day! - jason
