Tobin & Aurora update
Toby is doing just lovely at 3 1/4 months, he's eating well, sleeping... well sleeping as well as could be hoped, I guess?! Still wakes up a few times in the night for a feed but is sort of keeping vaguely to a routine. He is a very happy wee man and seems to smile and coo more than Aurora did at this age. He just LOVES it when you talk to him, he smiles and talks right back at you - sort of the more you talk, the more he will... maybe hes just trying to shut me up. Hmmm.
Hes almost rolling over - today he got 3/4 of the way ie: his legs made it all the way but his arms sort of stopped him from completely going from back to front. He still gets startled easily, but doesnt cry much, except when the milk is taking to long.
He gives Aurora the occasional big smile, and she in return occasionally shows him some attention and is very sweet to him.
Aurora's new 'big' girl bed arrives on Monday next week, so it will be just in time as Tobes is quite long and has pretty much out grown the moses basket that he's been sleeping in. He will move into Aurora's old crib and Aurora into a twin bed. Hopefully that transition goes easily for Aurora!
Aurora is also for the most part charming - I say for the most part as she seems to be hitting the terrible two's and sometimes has 'seemingly' random tantrums. They are AWESOME! ;-)
She will be happy as Larry one minute, then suddenly screaming and throwing herself backyards onto the ground the next. Fortunately these (so far) have been in the privacy of our home - not in public.
She had a doosey the other day, when for no reason that I could descern, she decided in the middle of a nappy change that she didnt want her nappy changed. She then struggled, squirmed and screamed so much that I had to put her in a 'time-out'. As I tried to sit her on our step for the 'time-out', she continued to scream and also go limp, so that she ended up lying on the floor. I left her to gather herself there, and she did calm down - after she peed on the floor.
Aurora then had another tantrum as I tried to lift her away from the pee to clean it up, at which time she threw herself backyards into the pee getting it all over her favourite dress (the rainbow dress she calls it - its a lovely little tie-dyed hippy number from aunty Karen).
She then followed the last tantrum with an encore performance because I tried to take off the very wet rainbow dress. Toby in the mean time is close by in his pack'and'play bed, and decides that all the drama isnt quite enough and adds his voice to the choir.
I was ready for nice big glass of wine by that evening!
