Working dogs 2022: Here are the 10 most useful adorable working dog breeds – including the adorable Labrador Retriever 🐶

It’s been a boom time for pets over the past two years – Kennel Club figures show the number of people looking for puppies has been on the rise, with record increases in 2021.
There are a large number of purebred dogs – 221 to be exact – as well as many crossbreeds, and some of them have very particular skill sets that make them very useful for performing certain tasks.
From military and police dogs to sight and hearing dogs, they help improve all of our lives.
And for those looking for a puppy, they can also make wonderful pets, with a great combination of intelligence and empathy.
Here are the 10 most useful working dog breeds, according to the American Kennel Club.

1. Labrador retriever
Britain’s favorite dog is more than just a pretty face. Originally used by hunters to retrieve game, Labradors still perform this task as hunting dogs, but are also popular as service dogs, guide dogs and hearing dogs.

2. Hunting dog
They may only have one job, but Bloodhounds are great at it. They are one of nature’s best trackers and are so good at finding people and things that in some countries their evidence is admissible in court.

3. German Shepherd
It might be quicker to list the tasks that a German Shepherd cannot do. They are the ultimate in working dogs, used by the military and police, as therapy dogs, at airports for drug sniffing, as guard dogs, for personal protection and many other tasks.

4. Belgian Malinois
The Belgian Malinois is one of the best search and rescue dogs in the world. They are also very agile and can turn to the canine sport of flyball.
